Coach of the Year

Dan Weinstein, Phoenixville

Weinstein’s fab four of seniors Kenzie Padilla and Liza Barbash, junior Maddy Deeney and freshman Brynn Lewis starred in the postseason under Weinstein, Phoenixville’s head swimming coach since 2012. The quartet took home a state medal in the 400 freestyle relay, finishing eighth, while Padilla won two individual medals in the 100 butterfly (fourth) and 100 freestyle (fifth) after medaling in both the 100 butterfly and 500 freestyle as a junior. Lewis made it to the ‘B’ final at states in the 200 individual medley (12th) and 500 freestyle (16th), while Deeney nabbed a ninth-place finish in the 200 freestyle at districts. The 400 freestyle and 200 medley relay teams secured fifth and seventh-place finishes, respectively, at the district meet.
