Mercury-Area Girls Lacrosse Roundup: Gebert, Huzzard hit milestones in OJR’s win over PJP
They’ve both been a key piece to the Owen J. Roberts’ girls lacrosse program over the past few seasons.
And on Friday, seniors Maddie Gebert and Kerry Huzzard each hit a milestone in the Wildcats’ 15-6 win over Pope John Paul II.
Both registering three goals and an assist on the night, Gebert scored her 200th career goal while Huzzard registered her 300th career point in the victory.
Anna Dempsey and Kelsey Kilgallon each registered a hat trick while Sara Maute made seven saves in goal. Frankie Carroll scored twice while Anna Lavelle and Eloise Gebert each registered a point.
Kylie Cherneskie led PJP with two goals scored while Monica Rapchinski, Abby McMenamin, Lauren Bello and Grace Cobaugh each scored once.
Methacton 10, Phoenixville 7 >> The Warriors used a seven-goal second half to take down the Phantoms in PAC-10 action.
Alana Cardaci paced Methacton with five goals and an assist while Jackie Cerchio notched a hat trick and a pair of assists. Daria Lucchesi scored twice and made three assists in front of Addie Frey’s eight-save showing in goal. Kyra Trafford and Kylie Crovetti (assist) paced Phoenixville with two goals apiece.
Spring-Ford 20, Upper Perkiomen 10 >> Camryn Jones poured in a game-high 12 points as the Rams blew past the Tribe in PAC-10 action.
Jones scored seven goals and added five assists while Kamille Ward made 10 saves in goal for the win. Jill Quigley (four goals), Anja Sweeney (one goal, four assists) and Brianna Cirino (three goals) combined for five points. Erin Connelly, Mikayla Lynch and Natalie Wechter each registered a goal. Hope Flack paced UP with six goals while Gabrielle Walters made 11 saves in goal.
Perkiomen Valley 20, Pottstown 5 >> Anna Koniencki notched a team-high four goals while four other Vikings notched hat tricks in a PAC-10 win over the Trojans.
Christie Balestra (five assists), Abby Bergman (assist), Paige Tyson and Sydney Marasco (assist) each netted hat tricks while Kat Kelley notched a pair of goals and two assists. Mara Wrzesniewski scored twice. Devon Fleischmann made six saves in goal for the win. Ebony Reddick scored three goals while Mardaije Pearson scored twice.
Boyertown 13, Pottsgrove 2 >> Hailey Heimbach and Kata Kada each tallied five points in the Bears’ PAC-10 rout of the Falcons.
Heimbach finished with a game-high four goals and an assist while Kada notched a hat trick and a pair of assists for the win. Haydn Hallman scored twice while Kylie Graver, Amanda Diachynsky, Payton Hughes and Sydney Fox rounded out the scoring with a goal apiece. Courtney Petrucelli scored both goals for Pottsgrove.
Hill School 12, Daniel Boone 0 >> Eight separate Blues notched a goal in a shutout of the Blazers.
Tatumn Eccleston registered a hat trick, followed by Lilly Pollack (one assist) and Dale Price who scored two goals apiece. Ally Maner, Janet Chen, Erin Kelly, Makena Hanson (two assists) and Bree Gorman each scored once. Annie Carroll and Mariah Sweeney combined for the five-save shutout in goal.
