Clausen keys Chichester’s rare win over Interboro

The Chichester girls lacrosse team did something it hadn’t accomplished in at least a decade: it beat Interboro.

Powered by Alyssa Clausen’s eight-goal performance, the Eagles downed the Bucs at home, 16-11.

The Eagles (5-3, 4-1) broke out for 10 goals in the second half after holding a one-goal edge at the break. Maura Murray found the back of the net four times for Chi.

Hailey Fisher recorded a team-high four goals for Interboro.

Academy Park 17, Penn Wood 4 >> Dakota Street had a stellar day with seven goals and two assists. Emily Deluce posted four goals for the Knights.

Alysia Boyd led the Patriots with two goals.

In the Central League:

Garnet Valley 12, Harriton 11 >> All-Delco Emily Mathewson collected three goals, three assists, three ground balls and three draw controls for the Jaguars. The teams were tied, 5-5, at halftime.

Camryn Faith, Kamryn McNeal and Madi O’Brien tossed in two goals each.

Penncrest 8, Ridley 6 >> Julianna George collected two goals and an assist, and Grace Harding added two goals for the Lions. Corryn Gamber made seven saves and MaryKate Klodarska dished out three assists.

Emily Johnston had a pair of goals for Ridley.

Springfield 19, Marple Newtown 8 >> Bailey O’Brien (three assists), Cailyn Gormley and Olivia Little paced the Cougars with four goals apiece. Bridget Whitaker and Maggie O’Connell each had two.

Leading the way for the Tigers were Rebecca Wenger and Christian Rutecki, with two goals apiece.

Strath Haven 14, Lower Merion 9 >> Maddie Ruffini had five goals, and Nicole McNeely and Kacy Hafertepe each posted a hat trick for the Panthers. Katie Capalbo made five saves.

Haverford 14, Upper Darby 1 >> Nora Janzer, Laura Winters and Allison Geiger (one assist) each netted two goals as the Fords used a balanced offense to beat the Royals.

Conestoga 10, Radnor 8 >> The Raiders had no answer for Sondra Dickey, who had five goals and two assists to help the Pioneers (5-0) stay perfect.

In the Inter-Ac League:

Agnes Irwin 15, Notre Dame 5 >> The Owls used a 10-goal second half to pull away from the Irish.

Lila Barker, Alicia O’Neil and Laura Pansini each notched a hat trick for the Owls (6-4, 2-1). Pansini added two assists, including the 100th of her career.

Goalie Hailey Andress posted three saves and Kate White paced a strong defensive effort for the Owls with three caused turnovers and an interception.

Episcopal Academy 15, Germantown Academy 8 >> Taylor Lucey registered a game-high five goals and four assists, and Katie Crager and Julia Hondros (two assists) each tallied four goals for the Churchwomen.

In nonleague action:

Delco Christian 18, Red Lion Christian 2 >> Emma Ellsworth dominated with five goals and an assist for the Knights.  Jessica Freeman added four goals and an assist.
