SOFTBALL

Lansdale Catholic 7, Mount St. Joseph 4 >> Lansdale Catholic coach Paul Suder earned his 300th victory as the Crusaders claimed a nonleague win.

Dock Mennonite 8, Calvary Christian  7 >> Trinity Landis was 3-for-4 with a double, two RBIs and four runs scored as Dock Mennonite scored a run in the seventh to win the first game of Wednesday’s doubleheader.

Adelyn Clemmer had two RBI while Maggie Dowell struck out 11 and allowed eight hits for the Pioneers, who erased a 5-2 deficit with two runs in the fourth and three in the fifth to lead 7-5. Calvary Christian scored a run each in the fifth and sixth to tie the game 7-7.

Dock Mennonite 10, Calvary Christian 0 >> Erin Miles went 4-for-4 with three RBIs and three runs scored as Dock Mennonite jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the first and completed the doubleheader sweep of Calvary Christian.

Trinity Landis had three hits and three runs scored with Sophia Mercure scoring three runs for the Pioneers.

Upper Perkiomen 8, Upper Merion 2 >> Upper Merion pulled to within 4-2 with a run in the top of fifth but Upper Perkiomen plated four in the sixth to pull away for a PAC Frontier victory.

Maren DeStefano was 3-for-4 while Ava DiDonato had two RBIs for the Vikings.

Dani Freer hit a home run in going 2-for-2 with an RBI and three runs scored for Upper Perk. Madalyn Dyer finished 2-for-3.

Upper Merion scored a run in the top of the first but UP pulled even in the second then plated three in the fourth for a 4-1 lead.

Archbishop Wood 10, Villa Joseph Marie >> Maura Yoos was 2-for-3 with a double and two runs scored, Paige Ross went 2-for-3 with two RBIs and Archbishop Wood earned a nonleague win.

Parker Kraus was 2-for-4 with two RBIs and pitched two scoreless innings for the Vikings. Gianna Anzideo had two RBI and struck out six in pitching six innings while Abby Windish had an RBI and two runs scored.

Abington 3, Upper Moreland 2 >> Leanna Schenk led off the top of the fifth with a solo home run to break a 2-2 tie and Abington held on to edge Upper Moreland for an SOL crossover victory.

Hailey Hernandez was 2-for-3 while Lauren Everitt went 2-for-4 for the Galloping Ghosts (8-8, 7-7 SOL Liberty), who led 2-0 after a run each in the first and second.

Upper Moreland (4-11, 3-9 SOL Freedom) made it 2-1 with a run in the bottom of the second then pulled level with a run in the fourth.

Archbishop Wood 3, St. Hubert 1 >> Dakota Fanelli led Archbishop Wood to a PCL win at the plate and in the circle Tuesday, hitting a home run in going 2-for-3 with two RBIs and a run scored while also striking out nine in pitching a complete game.

Parker Kraus went 3-for-3 while Maura Yoos scored twice for the Vikings. Fanelli allowed a run on five hits and two walks.

GIRLS LACROSSE

Plymouth Whitemarsh 12, Wissahickon 11 >> Olivia Reilly broke a 11-11 tie late in the second half and Plymouth Whitemarsh snapped Wissahickon’s 20-game win streak in SOL American Conference play.

Fiona Gooneratne and Meghan Wendler both had three goals and an assist for the Colonials (10-6, 9-2 conference). Brianna Austin had two goals and an assist, Rhianna Gooneratne scored twice while Sophia Gartland added a goal. Bri Reynolds totaled seven draw controls, two ground balls and two caused turnovers.

Alexa McCabe finished with four goals and an assist for the Trojans (12-3, 9-1), who can clinch the outright American title when they visit Cheltenham Thursday.

Emma Baker had three goals, two assists, three draw controls and two ground balls for Wiss while Lex Hobson had two goals, an assist, two draw controls and two caused turnovers.

Emma Greenberg collected a goal, an assist and four draw controls, Maddy Raddel had a goal with Ellie Stein recording an assist, a ground ball and a forced turnover. Goalie Camille Hubbs had six saves.

BASEBALL

Quakertown 14, Pennridge 6 >> Cooper Natisin hit a three-run home run as Quakertown scored six in the top of the third to take a 9-2 lead and the Panthers went on to claim a SOL nondivision victory.

Matt Atchley was 3-for-4 with two doubles and three runs scored for Pennridge (7-9, 5-8 SOL Colonial) while Aidan Fretz finished 2-for-4 with two RBIs.

Natisin went 3-for-4 with four RBIs and two runs scored with Ethan Beil going 2-for-2 with three RBIs and two runs scored for Quakertown (10-5-1, 9-3-1 SOL Liberty). Carter Kochel was 2-for-4 with two RBIs and two runs scored while Ty Everitt had a double and scored twice.

St. Joseph’s Prep 3, Lansdale Catholic 1 >> Sean Martinez hit an RBI single in the top of the seventh and later in the inning Lansdale Catholic had runners on second and third with two outs but a fly out ended the Crusaders’ rally in the PCL contest.

Kyle Donaphon and Jude Finizio each had a double for St. Joseph’s Prep, which scored a run in the second then went up 3-0 with two runs in the sixth.

Pope John Paul II 9, Pottsgrove 2 >> Frank Dimaio was 3-for-4 with a double, three RBIs and a run scored as Pope John Paul II broke a 2-2 tie by scoring three times in the top of the third and pulled away for a PAC Frontier win.

Mike Greco went 2-for-3 with an RBI and two runs scored while David Wagner was 2-for-5 with a double and a run scored for the Golden Panthers. Brendan Kenning finished 2-for-4 with two runs scored with Noah Brandt going 2-for-5 with an RBI and a run scored.

PJP II starting pitcher Adam Yarrison earned a complete-game victory, allowing two runs – both unearned – on four hits, walked two and struck out six.

Archbishop Wood 6, Archbishop Carroll 3 >> Michael Trommer was 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs while also striking out eight in pitching 6 2/3 innings as Archbishop Wood took an early 4-0 lead then held off for a PCL victory.

Joey Gale went 2-for-2 with a double, two RBIs and two runs scored for the Vikings (13-2, 10-1 league), who scored a run in the bottom first then three in the second. Archbishop Carroll plated a run in both the third and fourth but Wood scored two in the fifth for a 6-2 lead.

The Patriots (7-4 PCL) loaded the bases with two outs in the top of the seventh with a Zack Stearns RBI single cutting the margin to three but the next batter popped out to the shortstop.

Stearns was 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored. Carroll’s Harold Ivery went 2-for-3 with a run scored while Roman Tozzi was 2-for-4.

BOYS VOLLEYBALL

Pennridge 3, Central Bucks East 0 >> Riley Kodidek finished with 27 assists, three blocks and two aces as Pennridge claimed a share of the SOL American Conference title with a 25-21, 25-23, 25-9 victory over Central Bucks East.

Nick Smith had nine kills on an .818 hitting percentage along with four blocks while Tyler Johnson collected five kills on a .556 hitting percentage, three blocks and two aces for the Rams (15-1, 13-1 conference).

Thomas McKinney added seven kills and two blocks. Jude Rotondo had five kills and two aces, Bryce Ammon recorded four kills and two aces while Alex Derk made seven digs.

Unionville 3, Souderton 2 >> Nate Brown totaled 26 kills while Kavailya Bhatt had 58 assists as Souderton took the first two sets but Unionville rallied to win the nonleague match 16-25, 20-25, 25-14, 25-17, 15-11.

Andrew Brown had 16 kills with JC Peacock adding nine kills for the Indians (9-10, 8-5 SOL American). Alec Kreiser made nine digs while Tobie Lias and Derek Gilmore chipped in four and two kills, respectively.
