Reporter Softball Roundup: Souderton collects 19 hits, rolls past CB East in 6

Abby Burns kept finding her way to second base Tuesday afternoon, going 4-for-4 with four doubles and three RBIs as the Souderton softball team recorded 19 hits in rolling past Central Bucks East 15-5 in six innings.

Jen Klepfer went 4-for-4 with two RBIs while Katie Huber was 2-for-4 with a double and five RBIs for the Indians (4-2, 2-2 SOL Continental), who won their second straight.

Burns also earned the pitching win, giving up five runs on eight hits, striking out seven and not allowing a walk. Riley York, Alina Skrzat, Naila Neely, Sam Nuneviller and Julia Kistler all collected two hits for Souderton, which plated five runs in the bottom of first then posted another five-spot in the fourth to go up 12-2.

East scored three runs to avoid the 10-run mercy rule in the top of the fifth, but Souderton got a run in the bottom of the inning then finished things with two runs in the sixth.

Academy Notre Dame 13, Germantown Academy 2 >> Sarah DiLello hit a home run and scored Germantown Academy’s other run while freshman catcher Caitlin Szura had a pair of hits and stole two baes for the Patriots in the Inter-Ac loss.
