Mercury roundup (Sept. 2): Upper Perkiomen boys soccer retains Lynx Classic title

BOYS SOCCER

Upper Perkiomen 1, Oley Valley 0

Highlights: The Indians retained the Lynx Classic title after coming out on the winning end of a tight non-league matchup against Oley Valley. Matthew Fisher was the difference-maker with his game-winning goal off an assist from Ethan Barr. Evan Sands came up with seven assists for Upper Perkiomen.

Wilson 5, Boyertown 3

Highlights: Tommy McFadden led Wilson with two goals in a non-league win over the Bears. Nik Rom (assist), Rocco Perella and J Rivera also scored. Declan Moyer tallied two assists and Chris Boyle made one. Chase Bartman scored twice for Boyertown and Brayden Burkhardt added a goal. Macade Knoblauch tallied one assist. Brayden Risser and Dominic Maldonado both had two saves apiece.

GIRLS SOCCER

Owen J Roberts 3, Boyertown 0

Highlights: Three different players found the back of the net for the Wildcats in a PAC Liberty match against the Bears. Mckenzie Hagerty, Emerson Storti and Logan Farrow all scored one goal each as Owen J. Roberts outshot Boyertown 6-4. Cierra Cameron came up with six saves for the Bears.
