King’s goal lifts Strath Haven

Lizzie King broke up a scoreless tie in the second half by scoring in the 75th minute, and goalkeeper Katie Fisher did the rest, making 12 stops in the game as Strath Haven nipped Conestoga 1-0 in a Central League girls soccer showdown Saturday.

Strath Haven thus went to 6-1-1, and 4-0-1 in the Central League. Conestoga’s Aly Maneri made eight saves.

In other Central League matches:

Springfield 9, Upper Darby 1: Shynelle Fry led the way for the Cougars with four goals. Erin Cutcliff pitched in a pair of goals while Emily Santana, Bailey O’Brian and Ericka Biehl also scored. Jaclyn Castell registered Upper Darby’s lone goal.

Penncrest 5, Haverford 1: Olivia Mancarella scored three times to lead the Lions to the victory. Goalie Kayla Allen made 12 saves in goal. Daniela Faux and Nicole Mancarella also scored goals.
