Rosenberg, Upper Darby outpace Penncrest
Mike Paul’s anchor leg in the 400-yard freestyle relay helped Penncrest clinch a 94-89 triumph over Upper Darby in Central League boys swimming action Thursday.
Paul teamed with Daniel Rosenberger, Liam Nawn and Kyle Langan to finish in 3 minutes, 30.88 seconds. It was the third win of the day for Paul and Nawn, and the fourth for Rosenberger.
James Vogelsong won three events for Upper Darby, while Will Coppola won the diving and was on the winning 200 free relay squad.
Ridley 100, Springfield 71 >> Donnie Taziole and Brett Korn were triple winners for the Green Raiders. Taziole led off the winning 200 medley and 400 free relay teams. He also was first in the 100 fly. Korn was on both winning relays and captured the 100 free.
Christopher Fleming (200 free, 200 free relay) and Jack Booth (50 free, 200 free relay) led the way for Springfield.
Marple Newtown 99, Garnet Valley 86 >> Ron Feinberg won four events, and Johnny Truax and Dylan Kerr were triple winners for the Tigers. Feinberg was first in the 50 and 100 free in addition to being part of the winning 200 and 400 free relays.
Radnor 105, Strath Haven 81 >> Greg and Steve Gianella paved the way for the Red Raiders. Greg Giannella won the 50 and 100 free and was on the winning 200 and 400 free relay teams. Steve Giannella captured the 100 butterfly and was part of the winning 200 medley and 400 free relays.
