Archbishop Wood 80, Conwell-Egan 43 >> Archbishop Wood wasted little time in showing why it’s consider one of the top teams in the country, racing out to a 31-8 lead after a quarter as the Vikings rolled past Conwell-Egan in their season opener Friday night.
Wood (1-0, 1-0 PCL), which is ranked ninth in the latest Maxpreps.com national rankings, had four players in double-figures led by Daeshon Shepherd, who had game-high 20 points – 16 coming in the first half which ended with the Vikings up 50-24.
Rahsool Diggins and Marcus Randolph had 16 and 15 points, respectively, while Jaylen Stinson added 12 points.
Donald Imo led Conwell-Egan (0-1, 0-1 PCL) with 15 points with Derek Dolan adding 11 points.
Central Bucks East 60, Pennridge 47 >> Central Bucks East trailed 42-40 after three quarters but came up big in the fourth – outscoring visiting Pennridge 20-5 over the last eight minutes as the Patriots bounced back from their first loss.
Joe Jackman scored a game-high 20 points for East (6-1, 5-1 SOL Colonial) with Brendan Harte registering 14 points.
Luke Yoder paced Pennridge (4-4, 3-3 SOL Colonial) with 19 points. Coin Post had 11 points while Colin Monahan tallied 10 points for the Rams.
Plymouth Whitemarsh 60, Quakertown 42 >> Zende Hubbard posted 15 points, Luke DiCianno chipped in 12 points as Plymouth Whitemarsh improve to 7-0 (6-0 SOL Liberty).
Wissahickon 60, Hatboro-Horsham 49 >> Matt Compas had 22 points, Jackson Intrieri was just behind him with 21 points and Wissahickon capped off its Senior Night with a second-straight victory.
Zehier Cheeze led Hatboro-Horsham (2-3, 2-3 SOL Liberty) with 19 points. Wissahickion moved to 6-3 overall and 3-2 in the Liberty.
CB South 65, Souderton 41 >> Tyler Meinel and Michael Farley helped Central Bucks South snap a three-game losing skid, Meinel scoring a game-high 19 points while Farley added 18 points in the SOL Colonial Division win.
Aleks Smith finished with 14 points to pace Souderton (1-6, 1-5 division) while James Blair posted nine points. With the win, CB South improved to 3-3 (3-3).
