Mercury Girls Basketball Roundup: White closes in on milestone after OJR’s rout of Henderson

HIGHLIGHTS: Avery White took a big step toward a personal milestone Tuesday while leading the Wildcats to a non-league win over the Warriors.

With her game-high 21 points — 12 of them came off four 3-point baskets — White upped her career points total to 991, nine away from becoming OJR’s latest 1,000-point scorer. Asya Price kicked in with another 12 as Roberts, with a 33-8 scoring edge in the middle frames, extended its initial 18-13 lead over Henderson.

Phoenixville’s points lead was share by Jaime Michaud and Ava Gnias, each scoring six points. The Phantoms kept pace with their hosts in the first quarter, trailing by only one (7-6).

HIGHLIGHTS: The Bears were unable to answer Executive Education’s fast start on the way to a loss in Tuesday’s non-league game.
Boyertown, which trailed its guests by a 27-12 margin in the first half, were led by the respective 12- and 11-point outings of Madison Konnick and Carlie Schweizer.
