Delco Roundup: Anabel Kreydt named MVP as Springfield wins Daytona Beach Sunshine Classic

Anabel Kreydt earned MVP honors as Springfield topped Marin County (Fla.), 51-46, to win the Daytona Beach Sunshine Classic Friday.

Kreydt collected 13 points, 17 rebounds and two steals. She averaged 13.7 points, 12 rebounds and four steals as the Cougars went 3-0 in the tournament. Kaitlyn Kearney led Springfield with 15 points. Lexi Aaron added 13 and Mia Valerio scored seven points and was named to the all-tournament team.

Radnor 55, Cheraw 23 >> The Raptors tuned in a strong defensive effort in the Carolina Invitational in Charleston, South Carolina.

Radnor limited Cheraw to single digits in each quarter. Caroline Monahan paced the offense with 11 points. Megan Dole added eight points and five rebounds. Mary Sareen also scored eight points and Kate Gallagher contributed seven points and four assists.

Haverford 63, Staten Island Academy 34 >> Caroline Dotsey and Aniya Eberhart posted double-doubles to complete a 2-0 run in the Brooklyn Bridge Holiday Classic.

Dotsey collected 17 points and 14 rebounds one day after reaching the 1,000-point mark in her career. Eberhart added 13 points, 12 boards and five assists. Sky Newman also scored 13 points for the Fords and Rian Dotsey chipped in nine points and eight rebounds.

Penncrest 61, Chester 23 >> The Lions opened up a 14-2 lead in the first quarter and never looked back. Bailey Garrison led a balanced attack with 11 points. Emily Huggins pitched in with 10 points.

Imani Dorsey (10 points) and Shyne Hall (seven) showed the way for Chester.

Marple Newtown 31, Hatboro-Horsham 19 >> The Tigers pitched a shutout in the second quarter and held the Hatters to three points in the third period in the Boardwalk Classic in Wildwood. Mary O’Brien led the offense with 11 points, eight in the third quarter. Ellie DiBona pitched in with six.

Barnegat 46, Bonner & Prendergast 15 >> Riley Donohue led the Pandas with eight points.

Boys Basketball

Jake Sniras hit a turnaround, fade-away 3-pointer as time expired in the second overtime to give Garnet Valley a 64-63 victory over Coatesville in the Jameer & Pete Nelson Tournament at Widener Friday afternoon.

Sniras finished with a game-high 32 points for the Jaguars. The 6-4 sophomore forward scored 18 points in the second half and two overtime periods. Logan McKee pitched in with 14 points.

Archbishop Carroll 74, Lakota West (Ohio) 60 >> Dean Coleman-Newsome hit four 3-pointers and collected 21 points and nine rebounds to lead the Patriots (7-2) in the Junior Orange Bowl Classic.

Blake Deegan posted a double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds while Jake West chipped in with 16 points.

Haverford School 50, Abington 31 >> The Fords took control in the middle two quarters, outscoring the Ghosts, 30-17, to take a 38-21 lead into the fourth quarter. Silas Graham paced the attack with a game-high 17 points. Luke Rasmussen and KJ Carson chipped in with 10 points each.
