1st Team

Ciara Forde, Jr., Bishop Shanahan

Forde emerged as one of the top guards in the Ches-Mont League this season and was a huge piece in the Eagles winning their first Ches-Mont championship in school history. She led Shanahan with 11.8 points a game, finishing in the top ten in scoring. Forde was a defensive stalwart for Shanahan coming up with a key block or steal in the final minutes. The Eagles set a school record with 22 wins as Forde paced the way.

Nafisa Saunders, Sr., Coatesville

Saunders was one of the most electrifying offensive players in the Ches-Mont with the ability to create her own shot and drive to the basket. In her first year playing for head coach Rick Nelms, Saunders finished second in the league in scoring with 17.3 points a game, including a 34-point effort against West Chester East on January 29, a league-high. Saunders led Coatesville back to the District 1 Class AAAA playoffs for the first time since 2011, ending a four year drought.

Maddie Dew, Sr., Downingtown West

Dew had another strong season at point guard for the Whippets, leading the team back to the District 1 Class AAAA playoffs. She started the season strong with a 31 point performance against Chester and never tailed off, finishing with 15.5 points per game, good for fourth in the Ches-Mont. The highlight of Dew’s season came on December 30 when she scored her 1,000th career point on a layup late in the fourth quarter, scoring seven in the final two minutes to become the third player in West history to accomplish the feat.

Noelle Powell, Sr., West Chester Rustin

Powell had another excellent season for the Golden Knights, leading them to their fifth straight Ches-Mont American Division title while dominating at the 1 or 2 guard spot in the lineup. Playing mostly the full 32 minutes, Powell averaged 15.8 points a game, which was third in the Ches-Mont. She sealed a win over Mount St. Joe’s on December 13 with a steal in the final seconds, starting a streak where Rustin won 14 of 15 games. Powell finished her career as Rustin’s all-time leading scorer with 1,526 points. She is continuing her basketball career at East Stroudsburg in the fall.

Devon Adams, Fr., Bishop Shanahan

Despite being a freshman, Adams became the top center in the Ches-Mont and had a number of big games in helping the Eagles clinch their first Ches-Mont title. Adams was clutch in two of Shanahan’s three wins against Downingtown East, scoring a game-high 17 points (including a go-ahead layup with 1:42 left) to beat East on January 15. In the Ches-Mont title game, Adams scored a game-high 14 points in a 27-25 win over the Cougars. Adams averaged 9.3 points on the year and scored 251 for the season.
