Reporter/Times Herald Area Week Three Football Previews

Two old rivals and old friends get together Friday night, as Central Bucks West travels to North Penn for a Suburban One League National Conference contest.

Kickoff is at 7 p.m.

The Knights got going last week, earning a 44-20 win over Pennsbury to even their record to 1-1. Central Bucks West lost a close one to Abington, 28-20, to drop to 0-2.

North Penn had a diverse running game last week and would like more of the same on the turf. Khalani Eaton rushed for over 200 yards and helped the Knights score on their first four possessions of the contest.

Many contributors showed up for NP last week.

Ethan Spann added 52 yards and a touchdown on five carries and quarterback Ryan Zeltt found five different targets in the passing game.

Levi Carroll did the most damage, catching four passes for 109 yards.

The Bucks are also getting it done on the ground, with Eli Boehm coming off a 100-plus-yard performance.

The two rivals played a classic last season, with the Bucks earning a 27-26 victory, their first win over NP since 2000.

Pennridge at Central Bucks East
Day/Time: Saturday, 1 p.m., at CB East.

Last Week: The Rams blanked Neshaminy 30-0. The Patriots fell 41-21 to CB South.
Players to Watch: Shane Hartzell was a force on both sides of the ball last week for the Rams, as a fullback and linebacker. Quarterback Anthony Giordano helped the Patriots get out to a 21-7 lead last week before the Titans rallied.
Prediction: Pennridge 24, Central Bucks East 17.

Upper Dublin at Souderton

Records: Souderton is 2-0 overall and 2-0 in the SOL Continental. Upper Dublin is 2-0 overall and 2-0 in the SOL Continental.
Last Week: Big Red won 31-8 over Council Rock North. The Cardinals rolled 42-8 over Bensalem.
Players to Watch: Brayden Porter ran for 100 yards and three touchdowns last week for Big Red. Kyree Butler keyed a dominant defensive effort for the Cards last week.
Prediction: Souderton 20, Upper Dublin 19.

Wissahickon at New Hope Solebury
Day/Time: Friday, 7 p.m., at New Hope-Solebury.
Records: Wiss is 1-1 overall and 0-0 in the SOL American. New Hope is 1-1 overall and 1-1 in the SOL American.
Last Week: The Trojans toppled Hatboro-Horsham 14-12. New Hope bested Springfield Montco 45-35.
Players to Watch: Marice Johnson Jr. had a 61-yard touchdown reception to win the game for Wiss last week. Evan Davidson contributes at defensive end and at wide receiver for New Hope.
Prediction: Wissahickon 20, New Hope-Solebury 12.

Methacton at Spring-Ford
Day/Time: Friday, 7 p.m., at Spring-Ford.
Records: Methacton is 2-1 overall and 2-1 in the PAC. Spring-Ford is 3-0 overall and 3-0 in the PAC.
Last Week: The Warriors won 16-6 over Boyertown. The Rams routed Upper Perk, 55-0.
Players to Watch: Justin Carfrey’s 133 yards rushing were key for the Warriors in their win over Boyertown. Nick Teets was a versatile weapon for the Rams in their win over Upper Perk.
Prediction: Spring-Ford 30, Methacton 20.

Plymouth Whitemarsh at William Tennent
Day/Time: Friday, 7 p.m., at Tennent.

Last Week: PW won 47-7 over Muhlenberg. The Panthers lost 14-9 to Upper Moreland.
Players to Watch: The Chris Mclaughlin-to-Dylan Duran connection has been a good one for PW. Matt Miller bolsters the secondary for Tennent.
Prediction: Plymouth Whitemarsh 17, William Tennent 10.

La Salle at St. Joseph’s Prep
Day/Time: Saturday, 7 p.m., at Cardinal O’Hara.

Players to Watch: Sam Brown powered for 110 yards on the ground last week for La Salle. Marvin Harrison Jr. makes some tough catches for St. Joe’s.
Prediction: St. Joseph’s Prep 28, La Salle 14.
