Boyertown-Gov. Mifflin football game suspended, to be completed Saturday

Lightning forced officials to suspend play at halftime of Boyertown-Gov. Mifflin game on Friday night, with the Mustangs leading the Bears 35-0 in a non-league football game at Shillington.

Play will resume with the second half on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at Shillington. With the mercy rule in effect, the second half will feature a running clock.

The start of Friday’s game was delayed by 32 minutes due to lightning just before kickoff.

Gov. Mifflin took a big lead in the first half thanks in large part to running back Grady Garner, who had three touchdowns and 103 yards on six carries.
