Wyomissing 34, Berks Catholic 28: (see game story)
Exeter 42, Daniel Boone 3: The Eagles (10-0, 6-0) clinched the Berks League Section 1 title, their first county crown in 18 years, in a rout of the Blazers (3-7, 0-6) in Reiffton. Nick Sarangoulis scored three first half touchdowns and piled up 133 yards on 13 carries as the hosts rolled to a 35-0 lead by the break.
Governor Mifflin 23, Conrad Weiser 20: The Mustangs (6-4, 5-1) survived a late rally by the host Scouts (7-3, 4-2) to clinch the runner-up spot in Section 1. Mifflin built a 23-6 lead before two fourth-quarter touchdowns by Weiser narrowed the final margin. Mifflin’s Lucas Garner rushed for 197 yards on 30 carries and scored two touchdowns; Koran Jordan went for 99 on 25 with one score for the Scouts.
Reading 48, Muhlenberg 20: Jai Whitlock rushed for 215 yards and four touchdowns for the Red Knights (5-5, 2-4) in the win at Shirk Stadium. The win, however, could not salvage a District 3-AAAA playoff berth for Reading, which is 18th in the race and cannot finish higher than 17th. The Muhls (3-7, 2-4) got 132 yards from Kevans Duffault and a pair of rushing TDs from quarterback Cody Fidler.
Crestwood 47, Pottsville 41: Pottsville’s time as a BCIAA member officially closed with 2-8 season following a wild six-point loss in a non-league contest. Crestwood’s Tanner Kahlua scored the game-winning touchdown on a five-yard run in the fourth quarter. The Crimson Tide’s Eric Wapinsky threw for 207 yards on 14 of 23 passing and tossed two touchdowns.
Hamburg 49, Schuylkill Valley 7: The Hawks “unofficially” clinched a D-3 AA playoff spot with a rout of the visiting Panthers (2-8, 2-4 Section 2. Hamburg (5-5, 4-2) sits in the eighth and final spot in AA; the final power rankings will become official on Sunday. Ignacio Reynoso ran for 174 yards and scored twice for the victors.
Twin Valley 27, Elco 14: Alec Ranck passed for 203 yards a two scores to lead the Raiders (4-6) past their fellow host Raiders at Myerstown.
Fleetwood 57, Kutztown 32: The Cougars (0-10, 0-6) topped their previous high points for a game by 18 and still lost by 23, to close out a winless campaign. The Tigers (3-7, 1-5) got 327 passing yards and two TD passes from quarterback Luke Emge. Kutztown’s Oscar Klechner rushed for 222 yards on 28 totes and scored three times in the losing effort.
