North Penn 3, CB South 3 >> It was a back and forth matchup where both teams exchanged goals and played a scoreless OT in the SOL Colonial matchup. The Knights struck first on a Kerry O’Donnell goal from Maddie Waldspurger. South took control in the second quarter with two goals before NP answered in the fourth with a pair of goals from Riley O’Donnell. South’s Erin Smith tied the game at 3 with nine minutes remaining and that’s the way it ended for two teams sitting at the 9/10 spot in the District 1 standings. Mackenzie Czajkowski made 12 saves in net for North Penn (12-4-1).
Springfield Twp. 1, Lower Moreland 0 >> Stella Nelson got the game winner from Annie Coll as the Spartans picked up the SOL Freedom win on Monday.
Girls soccer
GMA 2, LC 2 >> The two private schools played to a nonconference tie on Monday. GMA took a 2-1 lead into the half off goals from Caroline Drakeley and Hannah Griffin. LC fought back with goals from Delaney King and Mia Norbury, which tied the game 2-2 with 15 mintues left. GMA’s Ellie Verrill made eight saves in net, while LC’s Cassidy Saulino had seven stops.
Upper Moreland 2, Interboro 0 >> After a scoreless first half, Abby Engart broke through at the 51:53 mark off a dish from Kyra Favors on Upper Moreland’s senior night. Less than five minutes later, Favors scored off a set piece from Mallory Roedig. Goalie Natalie Walton recorded her third shutout in a row.
PW 4, MaST Charter 0 >> Fiona Gooneratne had one goal and two assists as the Colonials coasted to the nonconference win on Monday. Ella Clark, Caelin Kosvitch and Liv Reilly also scored for PW. Caitlyn Dinh and Chloe Markus combined for the clean sheet in goal.
Boys soccer
Dock 2, Coventry Chrisitan 1 >> Nolan Vaszily scored in the 91st minute as the Pioneers survived the test in a double overtime thriller on Monday. Cameron LeSeur scored in the first minute of the game for Dock (8-3-4, 7-1-3) to give the Pioneers an early lead. Braden Churches made 1 save in the game.
Girls volleyball
Hatboro-Horsham 3, Upper Dublin 1 >> The Hatters stayed in the winning column on Monday with a 16-25, 25-12, 25-16 and 25-15 victory. The Hatters’ offense was led by senior setter Grace Howard with 27 assists and five aces on the line. Helping out at the service line with big nights were senior Ava Santo (6), senior Abigail Kosmalski and junior Jade Lauzier both adding three to the mix.
