Guinan, Hansen lead OJR field hockey past Phoenixville
Bridget Guinan and Riley Hansen each registered a pair of points in leading the Owen J. Roberts field hockey team past Phoenixville, 4-1, in Pioneer Athletic Conference cross-over divisional action on Monday night.
Guinan scored twice while Hansen had a goal and an assist as OJR struck for all four of its goals during the first half. Eloise Gebert had a goal while Jenna Kirby had an assist and Cassie Micklesavage came up with a pair of saves in goal. Gabby Herschell had Phoenixville’s lone goal off a feed from Kyra Trafford.
Upper Merion 5, Norristown 2 >> Rella Staley scored four of the Vikings five goals to lead Upper Merion to a PAC non-divisional win over Norristown.
Samme Deskiewicz also scored for the Vikings (3-3) and added an assist. Georgia Werkeiser had both goals for the Eagles, who dropped to 0-6 overall for the year.
Methacton 5, Pottstown 0 >> Olivia Hoover notched a hat trick to lead the Warriors in their PAC non-divisional showing against the Trojans.
Grace Hirst (assist) and Mackenzie Henry each added a goal in the win while Liz Chipman, Katy Benton and Maria Carfagno added assists. Lillian Stirk made 15 saves in the cage for Pottstown.
Perkiomen Valley 8, Pope John Paul II 0 >> Taylor Hamm and Gabby Martina each had a hat trick for the Vikings in their non-divisional PAC win over the Panthers.
Katie Wuerstle and Paige Calfapietra each had a goal for the Vikings (3-3 overall) to round out the scoring. PJP dropped to 2-3 overall with the loss.
Upper Perkiomen 3, Spring-Ford 1 >> Tied at the half, the Indians were able to score twice to defeat the Rams in their PAC non-divisional matchup.
Kaylie Siwy, Hope Flack and Colleen Creneti each scored for Upper Perk, which remained perfect on the year with an overall record of 6-0. Sarah Cooper had the lone goal for the Rams who dropped to 3-3 overall with the loss.
