Q: Your father, Brian Daly, left his job as associate head coach of the Penn State men’s basketball team last year to spend more time with your family. He is now working at Independence Blue Cross and is still involved with basketball, working with Speedy Morris and Sonny Hill running a program called Healthy Hoops. Can you tell us about your father’s influence on your game this season?

A: My dad being home has been incredible. It has been so nice having another person who cares about [me] as a player and person, and I think this year would not have been what it was without him.

Q: What did it mean to you to be named Catholic League MVP? What was your first reaction when you found out you were named MVP?

A: Winning the MVP of the league was a huge honor and I am very grateful to win the award. When I found out I won, I was shocked, due to [all of] the talented players in the league.

Q: What (to you) has been the most memorable moment of your Carroll basketball career? Can you share your memory of that moment and/or game with us?

A: My most memorable moment of my Carroll career was beating Roman earlier this year and snapping a three-year streak [of not beating them].

Q: Is there a reason you wear No. 11 – does it carry any special significance to you?

A: I just liked Nik Stauskas and chose it from his time at Michigan.

Q: Earlier this season, you mentioned that you’ve focused on becoming a more complete offensive player. What do you feel is your strongest area of play? What are you working on most at the current time?

A: I think my shooting ability is my strongest suit and I worked on my ball handling a lot this year.

Q: Who are your favorite basketball players?

A: Russell Westbrook and Andrew Wiggins.

Q: Who have been your biggest basketball mentors, and what was the important thing each of them taught you?

A: My dad, and Bo, my grandfather, taught me to work hard and that inspired me to be the best player I could be.

Q: What do you think you’d like to major in at college?

A: I will probably major in communications and minor in business or Spanish.

Q: What extracurricular activities are you involved in at Archbishop Carroll other than basketball?

A: I help tutor those in need of tutoring.
