Archbishop Wood 6, La Salle 5 (10): Sean Burke hit a walk-off home run in the 10th inning as the Vikings survived the PCL battle on Wednesday. Wood rallied in the 9th inning with a two-run double from JP DiGuiseppe. Dariel Taburcio and Patrick Gozdan added doubles for Wood. Mason Burlingame pitched the first five innings, allowing three runs. Finishing it off was Joey Gale with the final five innings, allowing two runs while striking out six.
CB West 3, CR North 1: Sam Greer tossed a complete-game gem as the Bucks picked up the win on Wednesday. Greer allowed just four hits and one run while striking out 11. Matt Carr provided the offense with a pair of doubles and two RBIs, while Quinn Illig also doubled.
Souderton 10, Bensalem 0: Jeremy Fallon pitched a complete-game shutout, allowing just three hits as Souderton racked up 10 runs on 12 hits on Wednesday. Sophomore Tyler Lutz hit a solo home run in the first inning. Joey Nase added a triple, while Connor Klock and Chris McKenna each had multiple hits. Fallon struck out six over his seven innings of work.
Methacton 9, Upper Merion 2: Ty Lohsen struck out nine while picking up the win on Wednesday for the Warriors in six-plus innings of work. Jake Chapman, Bob Kleckner and Kross Howard had two hits each, while Howarth added three RBIs. Tyler Weil-Kasper added a two-run triple for Methacton (8-1).
Pope John Paul II 16, Norristown 1: The Golden Panthers strung together 16 hits in a dominating three-inning win on Wednesday. Noah Brandt paced the offense with a four-hit, five-RBI effort. Brandt tripled and hit a home run, while Brian Fitzgerald also homered.
Plymouth Whitemarsh 10, Cheltenham 0 (5): Matt Krawitz struck out eight and walked just one in pitching a five-inning no-hitter as Plymouth Whitemarsh picked up its second straight win.
Luke Caucci was 2-for-2 with a triple, three RBIs and two runs scored for the Colonials (6-2, 5-1 SOL Liberty), who plated five runs in the bottom of the third to go up 6-0 before tacking on four in the fourth. Lincoln Sharpe was 1-for-1 with a triple, two walks, an RBI and a run scored.
Wissahickon 15, William Tennent 5 (5): Jarret Federer hit a two-run home run to help Wissahickon score nine times in the top of the first as the Trojans cruised to a five-inning SOL crossover win.
Blake McClintic was 3-for-3 with three RBIs and a run scored, Josh Palutis went 2-for-3 with a double, two RBIs and scored twice and Tyler Shilling finished 2-for-3 with a double, RBI and three runs scored for Wissahickon (6-3, 4-3 SOL Liberty).
Justin Miller was 2-for-3 with two RBIs and a run scored with Federfer having three RBIs and three runs scored. Shane Henrick collected two RBIs and scored twice.
Jordani Tiburcio hit a leadoff homer in the bottom of the first for William Tennent (3-5, 2-4 SOL Freedom) as he went 2-for-4 with two runs scored. Conor Servis was 2-for-3 with an RBI.
Holy Ghost Prep 20, Dock Mennonite 5 (3): Dock Mennonite jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the top of the first but Holy Ghost Prep proceeded to score 10 runs in each of the next two innings to hand Dock its first loss.
Zach Frederick was 2-for-2 with a triple, two RBIs and a run scored for the Pioneers (8-1). Matt Miles had two RBIs.
The Firebirds’ Reese Acord hit two two-run home runs in the first inning and finished 2-for-2 with four RBIs and three runs scored.
Matt Baker was 3-for-3 with six RBIs, a double and scored twice. Aiden Robbins went 3-for-3 with a double, triple, two RBIs and three runs scored while Noah McDermott was 2-for-3 with a double, three RBIs and a run scored.
Truman 10, Pennridge 7: Ashton McCloskey went 4-for-4 with four RBIs while Garrett Navitsky was 3-for-4 with two runs scored as Pennridge fell in the SOL crossover.
Matt Atchley had two walks, two runs scored and an RBI for the Rams (0-10, 0-6 SOL Colonial). Down 8-1 after Truman scored four in the top of the fourth, Pennridge plated three in the fifth but the Tigers added a run each in the sixth and seventh to go up 10-4.
Truman’s Andrew Armstrong hit a three-run home run in the fourth. He also doubled in going 2-for-5 with three RBIs and two runs scored. Ryan Cavanugh was 3-for-3 with an RBI and three runs scored.
Alex Matlack and Caleb Wright each went 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored with Wright also hitting a double. Wyatt Spinks went 2-for-5 with two runs scored while Gabe Marrero had two RBIs.
Hatboro-Horsham 9, New Hope-Solebury: Jamie O’Neill went 3-for-4 while also pitching six innings, giving up three runs – one earned – on four hits, walking one and striking out six as Hatboro-Horsham won the SOL crossover matchup.
Trey Porter was 2-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored while Stephen Plefka went 2-for-2 with an RBI and run scored for the Hatters (6-3, 3-3 SOL Liberty), who took a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the fourth then added six more runs in the fifth.
Nate Wiseman went 2-for-4 with a run scored for New Hope-Solebury (3-5, 2-4 SOL Freedom).
Upper Dublin 12, Springfield-Montco 2: Jared Levis and Joe Levis each had four RBIs as Upper Dublin collected 11 hits and pulled away to win its fourth straight.
Jared Levis was 3-for-4 with a double and three runs scored with Joe Levis going 2-for-4 for the Cardinals, who led 7-2 after four innings then scored three in the fifth and two in the sixth.
Bobby Keck and Brendan O’Brien both scored three runs for UD with Nate Cairnes scoring twice.
Abington 12, Upper Moreland 10: Abington had the final say in the slugfest, scoring four times in the bottom of the sixth to erase a 10-8 deficit and earn a SOL crossover win.
Chase Goodson was 2-for-2 with two RBIs and two runs scored for the Galloping Ghosts (4-5, 3-3 SOL Liberty) while Matt Worek went 2-for-4 with a double and two runs scored. Jake Kaplan tripled, walked twice, had an RBI and two runs scored. Louie Wolff had two RBIs.
Patrick Kilgus went 2-for-3 with a double, four RBIs and two runs scored for Upper Moreland (6-4, 5-3 SOL Freedom), which had a three-game win streak snapped. Shawn Townsend was 3-for-4 and scored twice with Nate Kelly going 2-for-3 with an RBI and two runs scored. Jimmy Torpey and Paul Meyers each had two RBIs with Jackson Townsend scoring two runs.
Plymouth Whitemarsh 15, Cheltenham 0: Madison Moran got her first varsity win in a dominating three-inning effort from the Colonials. Moran also went 2-for-2 with a double, while Caelin Kosvitch tripled as the Colonials racked up 11 hi
Upper Dublin 6, Springfield Twp. 1: Winning pitcher Kyla Garrison was 3-for-3 with an RBI single and a double to pace the Cardinals on Wednesday. Garrison tossed an eight-hitter with nine strikeouts in the circle. Kaelin Penna was 2-for-4 with a double and two runs scored, while Emeline Bell scored three runs. Bella Fiore added two RBIs, while Kaitlyn Small had an RBI single.
North Penn 15, Pennsbury 0 (4): Sarah Sabocisk capped the scoring with a three-run home run in the top of the third as North Penn cruised past Pennsbury in a matchup of undefeated SOL sides.
Brie Wilmot was 3-for-4 with a double, four RBIs and a run scored, Sabocsik had three RBIs, three walks and four runs scored for the Knights (10-6, 6-0 SOL Colonial). Julia Shearer scored twice and struck out seven in pitching a two-hit four-inning shutout.
Sophia Orth finished 2-for-4 with three RBIs, Annabelle Smink had two RBI and two runs scored while Gianna Cimino had two RBIs and a run scored. Reyna Doherty scored twice as North Penn took a 3-0 lead in the first, added four in the second then went up 12-0 with five in the third.
Central Bucks West 3, Council North 2 (13): Julia Thomas’ walk-off RBI single capped a two-run bottom of the 13th as Central Bucks West rallied for an SOL crossover victory.
The game was scoreless until Council Rock North scored a run in the top of the 10th with the Bucks (5-4, 3-3 SOL Colonial) pulling even on Sienna Lawson’s RBI single in the bottom of the inning.
With West down 2-1 in the bottom of the 13th, Chloe Dryden was intentionally walked to put two on with two outs. Molly Gibson followed with a double to tie it while Thomas singled the next at-bat to bring home the winning run.
Lawson stuck out 18 in a complete-game pitching victory. Gibson finished 2-for-6 with an RBI.
Pennridge 9, Truman 0: Olivia Crognale led off the bottom of the fourth with a home run while Grace Helbling followed with an inside-the-park homer to make it 6-0 and Pennridge went on to claim its fourth straight win.
Helbling struck out 16 in pitching a two-hit shutout while Reagan Bauman doubled twice and finished 3-for-4 with an RBI and two runs scored for the Rams (6-3, 4-2 SOL Colonial). Averi Dockery was 2-for-4 with a double, RBI and two runs scored with Ashleigh Kenworthy collecting two RBIs.
Souderton 10, Bensalem 6: Bensalem scored four runs in the top of the fifth to knot things at six but Souderton answered with four of its own in the bottom of the innings – Kayley York driving in the last two with her single – as the Indians claimed an SOL crossover win.
York was 3-for-4 with two doubles, three RBIs and a run scored while Lily Ponce went 2-for-4 with a double and two runs scored for Souderton (5-5, 3-3 SOL Colonial).
Sierra Miller was 2-for-3 with a run scored, Madison Byrwa finished 2-for-4 with a run scored while Kendall Clemmer and Kathryn Jones each had two RBIs. Cameron Nadolski added two runs scored.
For Bensalem, Megan Klein went 4-for-4 with two runs scored while Lina Sponheimer was 2-for-4 with four RBIs and a run scored.
Hatboro-Horsham 22, New Hope-Solebury 2 (3): Adriana DeLeon went 4-for-4 with a double, three RBIs and four runs scored as Hatboro-Horsham scored 10 runs in the top of the first and tacked on another nine in the third in an SOL crossover win.
Alyssa Tooley was 3-for-4 with a double, two RBIs and three runs scored for the Hatters (4-5, 4-2 SOL Liberty). Amya Lundy went 2-for-3 with a double, four RBIs and scored twice and Tess Kearney finished 2-for-4 with a double, three RBIs and two runs scored.
Isabella Karpovich was 2-for-3 with an RBI and three runs scored. Dakota Slye had three RBIs and two runs scored.
Methacton 7, Pottstown 0: The Warriors dropped just five games in an overwhelming PAC iwn on Wednesday. Akash Suresh, Ethan O’Brien and Ian Wang each dropped just one game in singles wins.
Upper Dublin 7, Holy Ghost Prep 0: The Cardinals improved to a perfect 12-0 with another win on Wednesday. The most competitive match of the day came down at No. 2 singles where Tim Schaefer sweated out a 6-1, 3-6, 1-0 win. The doubles were dominant, not dropping a set anchored by a 6-0, 6-0 double-bagel from Tannel Wilmor and Abhi Rege at No. 4 doubles.
Lansdale Catholic 15, Cardinal O’Hara 2: Dan Curran scored five goals, dished out two assists and won 19 of 21 faceoffs in a dominating effort for the Crusaders on Wednesday in PCL action. Patch Flannery added four goals and four assists, while Caleb Moister also scored four goals for LC. Sean McMahon and Gavin Selchert each were credited with one goal and one assist, while Jack Kennedy made 13 saves in net.
