Shipley captures 5th consecutive Friends’ Schools League baseball title

The Shipley School baseball team celebrates its fifth consecutive Friends’ Schools League title. Bryn Mawr >> The Shipley School baseball team captured its 5th consecutive Friends School League title, defeating Westtown School 9-1 in the FSL championship final May 15.
Starting pitcher Marco Grimmig got the win for the Gators (16-7), going 3.1 innings while striking out five batters. Dillon Bevan threw 3.2 innings of scoreless relief while pitching out of a bases loaded jam in the fourth inning to end a Westtown threat.
Freshman Sam Chairman laced a two out single to drive in two runs in the first inning, and finished with four RBI’s on the day. Evan Johnson was 3-for-4 and Ethan Kline was 2-for-3 with two RBI’s. Tommy Ball, Liam Riley and Teddy Eill all had RBI’s.
