Reporter Baseball Roundup: Souderton shuts out CB East, claims outright SOL Continental title

Luke Taylor threw a six-hit shutout as the Souderton baseball team clinched the outright Suburban One League Continental Conference title with a 2-0 win over visiting Central Bucks East Wednesday. 

Taylor struck out eight and did not allow a walk and also went 2-for-3 at the plate as the Indians claimed their first conference title since 2008. 

The Indians (13-2, 10-0 conference) have now won six straight games, four of those — including the last two — coming by shutout. Souderton has seven shutout wins on the season, six in SOL Continental play.

Souderton took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the second inning as a run scored when Dylan Kummery reached on an error. Big Red doubled its advantage in the third on a Conlan Wall’s RBI single.

Jack Nugent finished 2-for-3 for CB East (5-10, 2-8), which lost its third straight.
