2018 Mercury-Area Baseball Preview

Norristown

Manager: Jack Sturgeon, second season.

Last year’s record: 0-16 PAC, 1-19 overall.

Players to watch: Senior: Matthew Bates. Junior: Nick Chiodo.

Outlook: The Eagles’ first run in the PAC didn’t go exactly to plan — sitting at 0-19 before ending the season with a non-conference win over Penn Wood. For the year, Norristown was outscored 39-159 including six 10-run losses. Chiodo will again be at the front of Norristown’s rotation while Bates should be at the top of the lineup. The biggest void will be the departure of All-Area First Team infielder Tyler Pastella, lost to graduation.
