Mercury-Area Softball Roundup: OJR stays alive in playoff race; Pottsgrove tops Boyertown

Owen J. Roberts 2, Phoenixville 1 >> Alissa Vining had two hits and was efficient in the circle as the Wildcats kept their playoff hopes alive with a win over the visiting Phantoms.

Vining scattered 12 hits across seven innings, allowing one earned while striking out three as OJR stayed a game back of Methacton for the last playoff position.

Brianna Smith and Darby Stuart each registered an RBI in the win.

Perkiomen Valley 15, Pottstown 0 >> The Vikings got a game-high four RBI from Hayley Moriarity and cruised to the mercy-rule victory in four innings.

Alex Vullings finished with three RBI and three runs scored.

Jess Oltman got the win in the circle after she threw three innings and allowed one hit while striking out five.

Pottsgrove 4, Boyertown 2 >> Cori Dickinson went 2-for-3 with a double while Jane Auerbach added two RBI as the Falcons topped Boyertown in league play.

Auerbach went 1-for-3 with a double with Kelsey Hochstuhl adding a double and a run scored to supplement the effort from Kira Livezey in the circle. Livezey went seven innings and allowed two earned while striking out three.

Lauren Waller led Boyertown with two RBI and a double. Sarah Reinert finished with two hits.

West-Mont Christian 15, Perkiomen School 7 >> Scoring nine runs over their final three at-bats, the Wings overtook the Panthers and rolled to victory in their Tri-County League game.

All but one West-Mont player hit safely at least once, led by the five-hit outings of Grace Flynn and Kararina Sobdenski. Gabby Molnar and Paige DelConte each had two hits to lead Perkiomen, which led by a 7-6 count through four but committed three errors on the day.
