Carmer’s clutch hit lifts Christian Academy

 Lydia Carmer’s clutch single in the bottom of the seventh inning drove in the tying and winning runs as The Christian Academy rallied to beat Strath Haven, 11-10.

The Crusaders (11-1) have won 11 in a row.

Grace Gormley had two doubles and four RBIs for TCA. Sophie Bolinger and Brooke Bender led Haven with two hits apiece.

In other nonleague games:

Springfield 4, Interboro 2 >> Tori DePietro pitched the win and helped her cause with a single, double and two runs. Ashley Scarpato doubled and drove in a run and Hannah Sweeney went 2-for 3 with two RBIs for the Cougars (12-4).

Cardinal O’Hara 5, Chichester 1 >> O’Hara’s Annemarie Banes and Emily Loomis each legged a triple, and Mary Pat Brough scattered four hits with six Ks and allowed one unearned run in a complete-game performance. Maura Kane, Alexia Galli and Banes all contributed two hits for the Lions.

In the Ches-Mont:

Oxford 1, Sun Valley 0 >> Despite the loss, pitcher Maddy Gutowiecz was sensational from the circle. She struck out three and the only run allowed came from two Sun Valley errors.

In the Inter-Ac:

Episcopal Academy 8, SCHA 3 >> Maya Johnston was 3 for 4 with a homer and Arianna Feliziani and Nina Pagano each had three base knocks for EA (5-3, 5-2).

Penn Charter 7, Notre Dame 5 >> Sophia Marlino paced the Irish with a triple and three RBIs.

In the Bicentennial League:

Faith Christian 15, Delco Christian 0 >> Ana Yee accounted for DC’s only two hits (both singles).

In the Catholic Academies:

Mt. St. Joseph 7, Sacred Heart 1 >> Ally Schell went 2 for 3 with a triple and Nora Sanoury provided strong defense in the loss for the Lions.
