No. 17 seed Methacton scored runs in six of seven innings and overpowered No. 16 Springfield-Delco to advance in the District 1-6A playoffs.

Jillian McTamney had a home run and three RBI, Riley Kairer had two hits and three RBI and Sydney Hockenbrock doubled twice (RBI) to lead Methacton’s 13-hit offense. Jenna Kaufman was 2-for-4 with two RBI.
The Warriors put up three-spots in the second, fourth and seventh innings.

Courtney Freese (5 IP) and Meg Lineen (2 IP) combined on pitching duties for PV, each allowing two earned runs.
The Cougars managed 14 hits but only turned it into four runs.

Methacton will visit No. 1 seed North Penn in the second round on Wednesday.
