Already up 3-0, Julia Shearer hit a solo home run in the fourth inning, sparking a five-run frame that pulled top-ranked North Penn away early in a five-inning District 1-6A second round game Wednesday. The Knights will host No. 8 Ridley, an 8-4 winner over No. 9 Pennsbury on Friday in the District 1-6A quarterfinals at 4 p.m. 

Shearer threw four no-hit innings and Lexi Nyce worked an inning of relief as North Penn held Methacton to a single hit by Jillian McTamney. 

Casey Sokol was 3-for-3 with three RBI and Shearer and Brie Wilmot were each 2-for-2 with an RBI.

Methacton finishes its season 13-9 overall.
