Upper Perkiomen staves off Spring-Ford seventh-inning rally; Pottsgrove 10-runs Methacton

Upper Perkiomen 6, Spring-Ford 5 >> Spring-Ford’s furious comeback was thwarted by a play at the plate as Upper Perkiomen knocked off the Rams from the ranks of unbeaten in a PAC showing.

Taylor Lindsay swung the hot bat for the Indians. She went 3-for-3 with two RBIs and a run scored. She also got the win in the circle after allowing seven hits and five runs in her seven innings of work.

Megan Kern led the Rams with a 3-for-4 effort with two runs scored.

Only two of the runs in the game were earned, Sam Lindsay allowing one earned along with Taylor Lindsay. Upper Perkiomen sprung for four runs in the fourth inning to build a 6-2 lead before the Rams battled back in the bottom of the seventh. Following a Kern single and two straight walks to Maggie McConney and Sophia Cinti, Maddie Cortino hit a grounder to second which was booted to allow Kern and Bella Walker (courtesy runner for McConney) to score. With two outs, Ashley Della Guardia doubled to center field to score Ashley Vanella (pinch runner for Cinti) but a play at the plate ended it.

Pottsgrove 12, Methacton 1 >> Olivia Klaptosky, Rayna Markle and Kelsey Hochstuhl swung the hot bats for the Falcons, which defeated the Warriors in six innings.

Klaptosky went 2-for-4 with a double, triple and three RBIs in the victory. Markle added two hits, a run scored and two RBI with Hochstuhl going 3-for-4 with two runs scored and two RBIs. Jules Dinnocenti added two RBIs with Cori Dickinson scoring three runs.

Kira Livezey got the win in the circle after allowing five hits and one earned in six innings of work. She struck out four.

Boyertown 14, Pope John Paul II 2 >> An 11-run fifth inning was the difference as the Bears downed the Golden Panthers in cross-divisonal play.

Sarah Reinert and Grace Evan each finished with three hits and two runs scored while Taylor Garcia (three RBI), Kody Streeter (two runs), Kylie Hertzler (two RBI), Veronica Maryanski (three RBI) and Lauren Ferguson (two RBI) each finished with two hits.

Allison Melahn got the win in the circle after striking out nine in five innings of work.

Perkiomen School 12, Mercy 0 >> Juliane Haussmann threw a no-hitter while the Panthers banged out 13 hits in their Tri-County League romp over Mercy Career & Technical.

Haussmann struck out 11 in a game halted after five innings by the 10-run rule. She also had two hits and drove in two runs while Abby Glavin had three hits and Lena Felix contributed a pair of hits and two RBI.
