Softball: Radnor rides Rosenblums’ bats to season-opening win
The Rosenblum sisters did a lot of damage in Radnor’s season opener Monday.
Audrey and Sarah each collected three hits and two runs scored to help the Raiders outlast Marple Newtown in a Central League slugfest, 10-8.
Audrey Rosenblum had a double and three RBIs. grace Moore and Carolyn Eckstein, who made two good catches and threw a runner out at home, both hit a triple.
Maura Holst stole five bases as a courtesy runner in what was her first time playing softball. Brooke Nicander got the win.
Nicole Atkins paced the Tigers with two hits and four RBIs.

Upper Darby 7, Garnet Valley 1 >> The Royals (1-1) were a doubles machine. Sara Sullivan, Lexi Witmer, Sam Witmer and Brooke Jones each supplied two-baggers Camryn Young turned a double play at shortstop while Jones and Sam Witmer provided stellar glove work in the outfield, all in support of winning pitcher Rebecca Sorrentini
In the Bicentennial League:
Christian Academy 13, MaST Charter 3 >> Grace Gormley smashed a three-run homer to highlight a two-hit, four-RBI afternoon for the Crusaders (1-0, 1-0) in their season opener. Carly Ryle, who was the winning pitcher, added three hits and three RBIs. She struck out five from the circle. Lindsay Haseltine had two singles, a triple and an RBI.
In the Ches-Mont League:
West Chester East 17, Sun Valley 0 >> Alayna Lloyd, a freshman, accounted for the Vanguards’ only hit of the afternoon.
