Mercury-Area Softball Roundup: Trythall pitches gem, knocks in winning run in win over Methacton
Pottsgrove 3, Methacton 2, 10 inn. >> Jenna Trythall delivered the game-winning hit and also pitched 10 strong innings from the circle as the Falcons downed the Warriors in extras.
Trythall slapped a single up the middle in the bottom of the tenth to score Rachel Cherubini and give Pottsgrove the win. On the mound, Trythall allowed two runs on eight hits with no walks. Cori Dickinson finished 3-for-5 with a double and two RBI. Megan Stauffer took the loss for Methacton, where she allowed three runs (two earned) on nine hits. Sam Weil-Kaspar and Natalie Damato had each had two hits.

Boyertown 5, Upper Perkiomen 3 >> Emily Bradley allowed one hit in five innings and struck out two as Boyertown overcame a 3-0 deficit to come away with a league win. Kody Streeter finished with a game-high two RBI as Boyertown scored twice in the fourth and twice in the fifth before tacking on the game’s final score in the seventh.
Karlee Fretz led Upper Perk with two hits.
Pope John Paul II 2, Phoenixville 0 >> Ashley Remington was dominant in the circle as the Golden Panthers downed the Phantoms in PAC-10 action.
Remington pitched all seven innings where she limited Phoenixville to just one hit and two walks with four strikeouts to earn the shutout. Hope Robinson delivered a two-run blast for the game’s lone scores in the sixth inning, scoring Alex Szpindor. Alyssa Schwab finished with two hits out of the leadoff spot for PJP. Jess Anthony had Phoenixville’s lone hit on the day.
Owen J. Roberts 16, Pottstown 0 >> Emily Jackson, Maggie Milantoni and Rylie Hijosh each contributed two RBI as the Wildcats topped the Trojans in five innings.
Brittney Dellaquila pitched all five innings, allowing two hits and striking out four in picking up her first mound win of the season.
Mia Flavin and Jackson had two hits in the win. Emily Shaheen and Flavin had three runs scored.
West-Mont Christian 15, Lincoln Leadership 0 >> Julia Miller got the start in the circle and finished with three hits and four RBI as the Wings blew past Lincoln in non-league action.
Grace Flynn pitched the final two innings and scored three runs while Emmy Jenkins was 2-for-2 with four RBI and a double. Christy Chen and Morgan Stimson each had two hits apiece.
