Softball
Daniel Boone 7, Fleetwood 1 >> Heather Hall pitched a complete game striking out eight as the Blazers won their second consecutive game.
Hall helped herself out at the plate, hitting a home run to go along with her two hits. Aryanna Weller had another monster day at the plate as she homered while Gina Galm added three hits. Sydney Hayes, Gabby Willman and Rachel Woomer each finished with two hits in the win.
Blues sweep >> The Hill School dominated Mercersburg Academy en route to taking both ends of their Mid-Atlantic Prep League twinbill. The Blues opened with a 15-0 romp over their guests, then wrapped up the doubleheader with a 14-4 victory.
Meghan Dempsey powered the Hill on the mound and at the plate in the opener. She pitched a shutout with six strikeouts, and went 3-for-3 with singles in three of the first four innings.
In the second game, the Hill plated five runs in the first three innings with help from Dempsey’s two-run homer. Kyli McKee racked up three RBI for a Blues offense that had seven hitters combine for 20 hits, 11 RBI and 14 runs scored.
Pottsgrove 4, Central Bucks East 3 >> Gabi Ermish provided the batting power that helped the Falcons edge the Patriots in a non-league game that went 11 innings before being decided.
Ermish’s two-run homer in the seventh – part of her 3-for-4 plate showing that included a triple – pulled Pottsgrove even with East, which scored two runs in the fifth. Shauna Maggio chipped in with a 2-for-5 bat in support of winning pitcher Jenna Trythall’s complete-game mound work.
