Last year’s record: 8-10 PAC-10, 10-10 overall.
Players to watch: Maddie Cotellese, Sr., OF; Sarah Eidle, Sr., 2B; Mandy Kalil, Sr., P; Lauren Waller, Sr., 1B/3B; Sarah Reinert, Jr., OF.
Outlook: Boyertown finished with 10 overall wins for the second consecutive season, missing out on a chance to advance into the PAC-10 playoffs after falling to Pottsgrove in a key doubleheader at the tail end of 2015. Bears graduate All-Area honorable mention honorees in Vicky Schlott and Elie Goida but return Reinert, who had a productive season last year, earning her All-Area second team honors. Kalil returns to the circle, hopefully warmer after participating in the Pottstown Polar Plunge in January. Emily Bradley provides a good second punch in the circle while Eidle returns after an extremely solid junior season at second base. Look for Boyertown to contend again in 2016, a PAC-10 playoff position certainly attainable for Hankins and the Bears. “We lost key position players last year to graduation, but fortunately we have a lot of young talent coming up to fill in those open positions,” Hankins said. “We will be young but should be strong both defensively and offensively.”
