Recap
The Hill School girls soccer team opened play in the PAISAA Tournament Thursday with a 1-0 victory over Shipley School.
After an an intense start from both sides, the Blues found the back of the net on a free kick by Susanna Soderman in the 17th minute. While that would be the game’s only goal, both teams put together several dangerous scoring opportunities throughout the game.
An impressive effort by Hill defenders Amanda Grippo, Avery Jamieson, Jess Neumaier, Lexi Haas and Priyanka Dondeti, as well as several big saves from goalkeepers Addie Paulson (four) and Marah Krick (three), were enough to deny Shipley the chance to equalize.
The Blues outshot Shipley 10-7 and had a 3-2 edge in corner kicks.
