Baldwin School soccer tied the visiting SCHA Blue Devils 4-4 on Homecoming Day Saturday.
Baldwin struck early in the first five minutes of the game with sophomore defender Marissa McGarrey volleying home a freshman outside midfielder Gia Vicari corner kick. SCHA equalized off a corner kick midway through the first half. Baldwin took a 2-1 lead into halftime when senior forward Ellie Greenberg scored off an indirect kick inside the penalty box.
In the second half Baldwin took a 3-1 lead off an sophomore defender Olivia Dewitt blast from the top of the box off a feed from Marissa McGarrey. SCHA responded with another goal off a corner kick to make the score 3-2. Gia Vicari put the Polar Bears on top 4-2 with a high shot from the edge of the penalty box to make it 4-2 Baldwin. Baldwin allowed two more goals late in the half.
Baldwin created a number of quality scoring chances but were unable to convert and the game resulted in a 4-4 draw after two overtime periods.
