Upper Perk road a pair of Sarah Fisher goals to a 2-1 victory over Northwestern Lehigh in a non-league girls’ soccer match. The host Tigers controlled play throughout the first half, aided by a strong wind, but were unable to breakdown the Upper Perk defense. Upper Perk grew into the game in the second half, breaking the deadlock in the 50th minute as Sarah Fisher took a wall pass from Kyra Lesko and slid home the shot past GK Naomi Glassberg. Nine minutes later Upper Perk doubled the lead as Fisher picked up a ball on the left flank and dribbled inside before unleasing a strong shot from 25 yards out. Northwestern closed the deficit with 11 minutes remaining as Syenna Flores successfully converted a penalty kick past GK Ava Long, but the Indians’ defense held tight to preserve the win. Both goalkeepers were credited with 5 saves on the day. Upper Perk improved to 13-0-1 on the season, while Northwestern Lehigh fell to 11-4-1.
