Casey Purfield scored the game-winning goal with about 15 minutes remaining to play and Sun Valley held Ridley down the rest of the way Saturday as the Vanguards registered a 3-2 nonleague girls soccer victory over the Green Raiders.

Abbigail Ferrie and Elizabeth Morgan also scored goals for the Vanguards, while Riley Butler and Lexi Rainer dented the nets for Ridley.

Lisa Gale made three saves for the Green Raiders.
