Mancarella connects for Penncrest
Olivia Mancarella found the back off the net off a cross pass from Tara Higgins early in the second half, lifting the Penncrest girls soccer team to a 1-0 nonleague decision over Avon Grove Saturday.
Bryn McLaughlin and Kayla Allen split time in net for the Lions and recorded four saves apiece.
Jackie Mitchell, Carly Dunford, Merry Samuel and Kylie Riby played well in the back line. Corryn Gamber and Cary Baillis controlled the midfield for the Lions (3-1-0, 1-0-0).

Christian Academy 7, Freire Charter 1 >> Grace Gormley netted two goals and Lindsay Haseltine, Carli Sitkowski, Grace Cryan, Madison Dutton and Brooke Sareyka all tallied once for the Crusaders (1-0-1), who led 5-0 at halftime. Dutton, TCA’s starting goalkeeper, made one save in net prior to joining the field late in the second half.
Ridley 2, Bonner-Prendergast 0 >> The Green Raiders (3-1-0) used solo tallies from Rylie Butler and Rachel Smith to get by the host Pandas. Lisa Gale earned the shutout, stopping one shot in net, and Emily Cooper had a solid showing in the midfield for Ridley. Paris Banks turned aside seven shots in goal for Bonner-Prendie.
Garnet Valley 0, Unionville 0 >> Ashley Bufano made two huge saves in the second overtime to preserve the Jaguars’ second straight scoreless tie. Bufano finished with nine saves, while Alex Zecca, Rachel Warden, Beth Hofmann and Kara Nakrasius all performed excellently on defense for the Jags (1-1-2).
Brandywine (Pa.) 2, Delco Christian 1 >> Jessica Freeman scored off a pass from Alex Thompson and Faith Warmhold made nine saves in goal for the Knights (0-2).
