OJR caught off guard, falls to CB West in District 1-AAA quarterfinals

DOYLESTOWN — Anna Stuart said the Owen J. Roberts girls soccer team didn’t get the defensive alignment it expected to face Tuesday.

According to Stuart, the scouting report on Central Bucks West identified a team that utilized double teams and pressured the midfield.

However, the Bucks executed a low pressure defense. Instead of challenging passes, they dropped back to prevent offensive runs.

“It made a big difference,’ Stuart said.

Shae McCarty scored twice to lead C.B. West to a 3-0 victory in the quarterfinal round of the District One Class AAA tournament.

Sophie McNight also scored for the host Bucks (14-5-1), who will take on Pennsbury in the semifinal round Thursday. Grace Bendon recorded one save.
