Softball
Plymouth Whitemarsh 7, Avon Grove 1: The Colonials strung together 15 hits and picked up the nonconference win on Tuesday. Marissa Perez paced the offense with three hits, including a triple. Winning pitcher Molly Moore and Rian Reed also added triples. Moore allowed two hits and one run in the first four innings. Reed shut the door with three innings of scoreless relief.

“Nice team victory today on the road,” PW softball coach Mike Perez said. “(Megan) McKeown is great pitcher who works around the plate. Our hitters were patiently aggressive when they saw something to hit and did a great job using the right side of the field. 9 different girls got hits, with 7 different girls knocking in our 7 runs. Total team effort.”

Souderton 16, Upper Perkiomen 1: The Indians broke the game open with a 7-run second inning and coasted to the nonconference win on Tuesday. Riley York paced Souderton with two home runs and five RBIs, while Madison Brywa went 3-for-3 with two doubles. Cameron Nadolski added two hits, two runs scored and two RBI’s in the five-inning win.

Pennridge 15, Coatesville 6: Avery Dockery hit two home runs while Ashleigh Kenworthy’s grand slam capped a seven-run bottom of the sixth for Pennridge as it pulled away for a nonleague win.

Grace Helbling also homered, finishing 3-for-4 with two RBIs and three runs scored while Regan Bauman went 4-for-4with a double, two RBIs and scored three times for the Rams (2-2, 0-2 SOL Colonial). Dockery and Kenworthy each had five RBIs for the Rams. Dockery 2-for-3 with three runs scored with Kenworthy going 2-for-3 with a run scored. Olivia Crognale was 2-for-4 with a double, RBI and two runs scored.

Archbishop Wood 7, Bonner & Prendergast 0: Archbishop Wood’s Dakota Fanelli struck out 15 in pitching a four-hit shutout while at the plate hit a pair of doubles in finishing 3-for-4 with three RBIs and a run scored.

Maura Yoos and Paige Ross also had three hits as the Vikings totaled 14 hits. Yoos went 3-for-4 with two RBIs and three runs scored while Ross was 3-for-4 with a run scored. Wood plated four runs in the bottom of the fourth to take a 6-0 lead.

Garnet Valley 1, Central Bucks South 0: Ella Wheeler had both of Central Bucks South’s two hits, finishing 2-for-3 as the Titans were edged by visiting Garnet Valley.

South pitcher Maddy Borowski struck out 10, allowing an earned run on three hits and three walks in a complete-game effort.

Baseball
North Penn 3, Hazleton 1: Jack Picozzi went 2-for-3 with a double and a run scored while also pitching five innings, allowing one run – earned – on five hits, walking one and striking out five as North Penn earned a nonleague win.

Chas Jones was 2-for-4 with a run scored for the Knights (4-0, 2-0 SOL Colonial), who took a 2-1 lead by scoring twice in the bottom of third then added another run in the sixth on a Kevin Brice RBI single.

Trevor Lugara recorded two scoreless innings on the mound, giving up one hit, no walks and striking out two.

Souderton 2, Upper Dublin 1: Chris McKenna went 3-for-4 while Joey Crecca broke a 1-1 tie in the top of the third with an RBI single as Souderton edged Upper Dublin for an SOL nondivision victory.

Ethan Warner finished 2-for-4 with a run scored for the Indians (2-2, 1-1 SOL Colonial), who took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first on a Jeremey Fallon bases-loaded walk. The Cardinals (2-3, 2-1 SOL Liberty) scored on an error in the bottom of the inning to pull even.

Dock Mennonite 15, Calvary Christian 2 (5): Nate Lapp hit a two-RBI inside-the-park home run in the top of the second, a two-run triple in the fourth and went 3-for-4 with four RBIs and three runs scored as Dock Mennonite rolled to a win.

Deven Ross was 2-for-4 with a pair of doubles, six RBIs and a run scored for the Pioneers, who registered 21 hits. Zack Frederick finished 3-for-3 with a double and an RBI, Sam Laux was 3-for-4 with a double, triple, two RBIs and three runs scored while Brayden Kratz went 3-for-4 with an RBI and scored twice.

Josh Mascio was 2-for-3 with three runs scored and Cooper Brannon went 2-for-3 with a run scored.

Girls Lacrosse
Archbishop Carroll 21, Archbishop Wood 3: Carroll (3-1, 2-0) broke the game open in the first half, leading 12-2 at the intermission on Tuesday in PCL play. Carroll added nine more goals in the second half to Wood’s one to make the final 21-3. Scoring two goals each for Carroll were Chloe Bleckley, Cate McConaghy, Sam Hewitt, Claire Sexton, Machaela Henry, Lainey Straub, Ava Bleckley, Kate O’Neill and Brooke Hippert. Tess Waltrich scored twice for Wood.

Boys Lacrosse
Owen J. Roberts 9, Pope John Paul II 8, 4 OT: It took four overtimes, but the Golden Panther finally succumbed on Tuesday in PAC action. Ian Young and Connor Gucwa both scored three goals for PJP, while Eric Zadorga added two goals and one assist. Dillon Murphy won 14 of 24 faceoffs, while Sean Fallon had 14 saves for PJP.

Upper Merion 16, Phoenixville 4: The Vikings took a 9-0 lead after one quarter and coasted to the PAC win on Tuesday. Justin Besz led the way for Upper Merion with five goals and four assists, while Casey Lamey added three goals and four assists. Collin McCormick also scored three goals for Upper Merion, while Kevin Roseland chipped in with three assists. Ryan Becker added a goal and also won 19 of 23 faceoffs, while Nathan Uhl and Tony Ledbetter combined for nine saves.

Boys Volleyball
Upper Dublin 3, Souderton 2: The Indians fell in a five-set thriller on Tuesday. Nate Brown led the way for Souderotn with 18 kills, 6 digs and 2 aces, while Ian Nice added 14 klls, 4 digs and 5 aces. Derek Gilmore added 9 kills, 6 blocks and 2 aces, while Levi Leatherman chimed in with 43 assists and 3 digs.

Girls Track & Field
Central Bucks South 95, Souderon 55: Despite a 16-3 mark from freshman Laysha Lee in the long jump the Indians dropped the SOL Colonial meet on Tuesday. Also winning for Souderton were Janae Pettaway (100, 12.59), Peyton Krebs (200, 26.48) and Destini Smith (high jump).

Boys Tennis
Methacton 7, Pope John Paul II 0: The Warriors lost just two games in an overwhelming victory on Tuesday. Dylan Wen, Akash Suresh and Ethan O’Brien all won 6-0, 6-0 matches.

Pennridge 6, Upper Perkiomen 1: The Rams swept the singles matches without dropping a set and coasted to the nonconference win on Monday. Linus Lienkamp, Isaac Hartzell and Daniel Carey combined to lose just 12 games. Upper Perk won at No. 4 doubles where Bryce Shanfelt and Julian Leo won 6-4, 7-5 over Wesley George and Jonah Rabuck.

Quakertown 4, Pottsgrove 3: The Panthers swept the singles matches and eked out the nonconference win on Tuesday. Justin Kwityn and Josh Einolf pulled out a thriller at No. 1 doubles, winning 4-6, 7-6, (7-5), 6-0 over Pottsgrove’s Declan Tabor/Matthew Walmsley. Max Arkans, Ben Arkans and Tyler Osika all won in straight sets for Quakertown in singles action.
