Notre Dame storms back to stun Episcopal
Trailing by seven goals wasn’t the start Notre Dame wanted Tuesday. But it was the finish that counted, courtesy of Claire Nappi.
Nappi’s fourth goal of the game with less than two minutes to play cemented Notre Dame’s 13-12, come-from-behind win over Episcopal Academy.
The Irish trailed 7-0 out of the gates and 11-6 at half before storming back for the win, outscoring the Churchwomen 7-1 over the final half to knock off the 10-time defending Inter-Ac champs.
Nappi added two assists, and Caroline Allen tallied four goals and three assists for Notre Dame. Julia Dambly recorded a hat trick to go with a helper, and Madison Chermol chipped in a goal and three assists for Notre Dame.
Corinne Zannolli paced EA by posting a hat trick. Jane Crager, Kate Crager and Lauren Repke scored twice each for the Churchwomen.
