Schedules continue to take a hit thanks to Jonas
Winter Storm Jonas may be long gone, but it continues to wreak havoc on the local high sports schedule. A total of 28 events, including 10 boys basketball games and eight girls basketball games, were postponed Tuesday for a variety of reasons.
Chester’s Del Val League showdown with Penn Wood was moved to Friday, Feb. 5.
In other boys basketball action, Delco Christian’s Bicentennial League game at MaST Charter was moved to Thursday, while Cardinal O’Hara’s Catholic League game at home against West Catholic. In the Central League games switched to Wednesday, Conestoga is at Penncrest, Harriton entertains Garnet Valley and Marple Newtown hosts Upper Darby. The Conestoga-Penncrest game starts at 3:45. The rest of the games start at 7 p.m.
In the Ches-Mont League, Sun Valley’s game at Unionville is Wednesday at 7:15. Episcopal Academy visits Penn Charter at 3:45 Wednesday, while The Haverford School entertains Germantown Academy at 4 p.m. in the Inter-Ac League.
In Catholic League girls basketball, O’Hara visits Archbishop Ryan Wednesday at 7, while Archbishop Carroll travels to Neumann-Goretti Thursday for a 6 p.m. start. Three Central League games have been moved to Wednesday: Penncrest at Conestoga (3:45), Harriton at Garnet Valley (7) and Marple Newtown at Upper Darby (7). Sun Valley’s home game with Unionville in the Ches-Mont League is Wednesday at 7:15 and Notre Dame will be at Penn Charter at 4 p.m. in the Inter-Ac League.
Chester’s Del Val League girls game at Penn Wood will be made up at a date to be determined.
Three swimming meets were rescheduled for Wednesday afternoon, Springside Chestnut Hill at Episcopal Academy (boys and girls) and Haverford School at Malvern.
