Reporter/Times Herald Girls Basketball (Feb. 27): Plymouth Whitemarsh stay perfect, rallies to beat Central Dauphin
Plymouth Whitemarsh 47, Central Dauphin 44 >> Plymouth Whitemarsh kept its perfect record intact Saturday with a four-quarter comeback, outscoring visiting Central Dauphin 18-4 over the final eight minutes to win the nonleague contest.
Anna McTamney’s 13 points paced the Colonials (14-0, 10-0 SOL Liberty) while Gabby Cooper added 12 points.
Central Bucks East 40, Methacton 39 >> Emily Chmiel led Central Bucks East to a win in the tight nonleague matchup, leading all scorers with 22 points as the Patriots snapped Methacton’s 12-game win streak.
Mia Salvatti finished with 12 points for East (13-1, 10-0 SOL Colonial), which trailed 25-19 at halftime but pulled even at 32 by the end of the third then edged the Warriors 8-7 in the fourth.
Nicole Timko scored 13 points to lead Methacton (13-3, 11-2 PAC Liberty). Cassidy Kropp chipped in 12 points while Mairi Smith had 10 points.
Central Bucks West 59, North Penn 36 >> Emily Spratt scored 13 of her game-high 20 points in the first half as Central Bucks West built a 32-14 lead at the break and rolled to a SOL Colonial victory.
Paige Gilbert finished with 15 points — 10 in the second half — for the Bucks (10-5, 7-3), who won their fifth straight. Alli Lindsay led North Penn (2-9, 2-8) with 14 points.
Pennridge 43, Neshaminy 39 >> Katie Yoder paced Pennridge with 16 points as the Rams erased a 10-point halftime deficit to win the SOL Nondivision matchup.
Anna Coyle had 14 points for Pennridge (5-10, 2-8 SOL Colonial), which trailed 27-17 at the half . The Rams pulled within 35-30 at the end of the third then outscored Neshaminy 13-4 in the fourth.
The loss was the second straight for Neshaminy (8-5, 8-2 SOL Patriot).
Notre Dame 68, Germantown Academy 37 >> Maeve McErlane exploded for 35 points as Notre Dame used a strong first half to cruise past Germantown Academy.
Izzy Casale added 10 points for the Irish (7-1), who led 39-16 at halftime. Jessica Moore scored a team-high eight points for GA (5-4).
