Reporter Girls Basketball Roundup: Souderton claims 2nd straight outright SOL Continental title
Olivia Schneider scored a game-high 18 points and the Souderton girls basketball team used a strong second quarter to build a 16-point halftime lead as the Indians claimed their second straight Suburban One League Continental Conference championship with a 55-41 victory over host Pennridge Friday night.
Mikaela Reese added 12 points for Souderton (17-2, 10-1 conference), who won their third game in a row. The Indians outscored the Rams 19-5 in the second quarter to take a 28-12 lead at the break.
Emilee Cramer and Evelyn Loughery both finished with 12 points to pace Pennridge (8-10, 2-7), which lost its third straight.
Upper Moreland 62, Springfield-Montco 28 >> Bean Hughes scored 10 of her game-high 20 points in the first quarter as Upper Moreland cruised to an SOL American victory.
Kaitie Opferman chipped in nine points for the Golden Bears (13-6, 7-5), led 34-10 at halftime en route to their third win in four games.
Grace Barraclough’s nine points led Springfield (2-16, 1-11).
