Jaye Haynes hit a trio of 3-pointers in scoring a team-high 17 points as Germantown Academy jumped out to a 22-4 lead after a quarter over McKinley (La.) and stayed unbeaten with a 57-39 victory in its opening game at the Sugar Bowl National Prep Classic Thursday in Westwego, Louisiana.
Rachel Balzer connected on four 3-pointers in finishing with 14 points while Maddie Vizza had 11 points for the Patriots (11-0, 1-0 Inter-Ac), who advance to the Platinum Bracket’s semifinals to face John Curtis Christian (La.) Friday.
Pennridge 47, Council Rock South 32 >> Pennridge trailed 23-18 at halftime but dominated the third quarter, outscoring Council Rock South 17-2 in the period as the Rams rolled to a second-straight victory in the SOL non-confrence matchup.
