Reporter Girls Basketball Roundup: Germantown Academy reaches Naples Holiday Shootout final
Germantown Academy 52, Fayetteville (Ark.) 40 >> Maddie Vizza connected on six 3-pointers in scoring a game-high 19 points as Germantown Academy advanced to the Naples Holiday Shootout National Division final with a win over Fayetteville Monday in Naples, Florida.
Jaye Haynes had 14 points and five rebounds while Becca Booth added seven points and seven rebounds for the Patriots (10-1) who won their fifth straight. GA faces Ensworth (Tenn.) in the final 6 p.m. Tuesday.
The Patriots outscored Fayetteville 15-4 in the second quarter to lead 26-15 at halftime then pushed it advantage to 39-25 at the end of the third.
Souderton 39, Pope John Paul II 24 >> Mikaela Reese filled up the stat sheet, finishing with 19 points, 10 rebounds, seven assists and three blocks as Souderton pulled away in the third quarter to win its third straight Monday.
The Indians (5-3, 1-2 SOL Continental) had an assist on 14 of their 17 field goals. Amelia Kennedy led Pope John Paul II (2-5, 2-1 PAC Frontier) with nine points.
Souderton led 17-10 at halftime then outscored the Golden Panthers 16-6 in the third to go up 33-16.
Spring-Ford 70, Pottsgrove 47 >> Lucy Olsen made four 3-pointers in leading all scorers with 29 points as Spring-Ford cruised past Pottsgrove in Monday’s PAC cross-division matchup.
Emilly Tiffan added 11 points for the Rams (7-1, 3-0 PAC Liberty), who went into halftime up 44-24.
Sydney Mowery paced Pottsgrove (8-2, 3-0 PAC Frontier) with 13 points while Rachel Ludwig finished with 11 points.
