Recap
Friends’ Central 50, Hill School 33 >> The Blues bowed out in the first round of the Pennsylvania Independent Schools Athletic Association (PAISAA) tournament with a loss to Friends’ Central.
The Hill squad came out extremely tough and led the first quarter, 13-11, after a steal and layup by co-captain Kathryn Dunn at the buzzer. After a back-and-forth second quarter, the Lady Blues went into the locker room down by one point (23-22).
Coming out for the second half, Friends Central went on a 7-0 run in the first two minutes to create a deficit that would not be overcome. The FCS lead was cut down to five, but that’s as close as The Hill would get.
But quality minutes by senior co-captain Jasmine Nyce (seven points) and Senior Maju Ananias (team high nine points) kept The Hill in the game. Freshmen Stephanie Percy and Alexa Giacche contributed eight and five points, respectively.
