A hot shooting night from beyond the arc from Sophie Vigliotta and the Golden Panthers sent Pope John Paul II to a rout of MaST Charter in the District 1-4A semifinals on the road Tuesday night.

Pope John Paul II, the No. 3 seed, advanced to the District 1 Class 4A championship game where it will face No. 1 seed Villa Joseph Marie on Saturday, Feb. 24, 4:30 p.m. at Bensalem High School.

Vigliotta hit six 3-pointers for 18 points and Rylee Derecola (two 3s) and Grace Fitzgerald contributed 10 apiece for the Golden Panthers, which earned their first postseason win since the 2018-19 season. 

The result is a reversal of a semifinal last season where MaST cut down PJP 62-39.
