Recap
It’s the latest milestone in a 2021 season known all too well for the less-memorable distinction of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Methacton girls basketball team, recently marking Nicole Timko’s achievement and passing of the 1,000-point career plateau, celebrated an even more significant milestone Wednesday. Securing a 77-29 victory over Upper Perkiomen, the Warriors got head coach Craig Kaminski his 300th career victory.
In his 19th season heading the program — he was an assistant nine years — Kaminski lifted his career mark to 300-187, a .616 winning percentage. The achievement was secured in quick order, Methacton (9-2 overall) building a 54-13 halftime lead on the Indians (1-12) in this Pioneer Athletic Conference divisional crossover game.
Mairi Smith headed Methacton’s balanced trio of double-figure scorers, collecting 17 points along with nine rebounds and five steals. Cassidy Kropp added 16 points and six assists, and Timko had 15 points with eight assists.
Erin States headed the UP lineup with 15 points.
