District 1 champion Perkiomen Valley rolls Manheim Township in PIAA 6A first round
The Perkiomen Valley girls basketball team’s dominant run continued in the first round of the PIAA 6A tournament Friday night in a 78-33 takedown of District 3’s Manheim Township.
The District 1 champion Vikings controlled the proceedings from the start, jumping out to a 28-7 first-quarter lead. It was 53-15 by halftime.
Grace Galbavy scored 18 to lead four players in double figures for PV. Grace Miley and Quinn Boettinger added 12 apiece, Anna Stein had 11 and Bella Bacani scored six of her eight points in the opening frame.
Ava Byrne scored 22 for the Blue Streaks, who were the sixth seed from District 3.
Perkiomen Valley advances to meet District 1 No. 5 Haverford, which dropped Dobbins 66-28 Friday. The second round game will be played on Tuesday, March 12 at a site and time to be determined.
