Delco Christian falls in Bicentennial quarterfinals
Something had to give when Delco Christian took on Phil-Mont Christian in the quarterfinal round of the Bicentennial League girls basketball playoffs Tuesday night.
On the one side was Delco Christian’s Siani McNeil, the Most Valuable Player in the Independence Conference. Leading Phil-Mont was Keyen Green, the MVP in the Constitution Conference.
One MVP was moving on while the other would be off until the District One Tournament.
This round went to Green, barely.
The Liberty-bound senior scored a game-high 25 points and pulled down 17 rebounds to help Phil-Mont outlast the Knights, 46-44, to earn a spot in the semifinals.
McNeil, who is headed to West Chester, did her part, too. The senior collected 24 points, seven rebounds, five blocked shots, four assists and four steals.
