The Reporter Week 4 Preview Capsules

Here is a look at the six games on The Reporter’s high school football schedule for Week Four.

North Penn at Pennridge
Time/Place: Friday, 7 p.m., at Helman Field, Pennridge High School.
On the Air: The game will be broadcast live on the radio on 1440 AM and live on the internet at wnpv1440.com.

Records: North Penn is 1-2 overall and 0-0 in the Suburban One League National Conference. Pennridge is 2-1 overall and 0-0 in the SOL National.
Last Week: The Knights lost a heartbreaker on the road, 28-24, to Downingtown East, while the Rams scored all of their points in the second half of a 34-0 win over Central Bucks West.
Last Year: North Penn downed Pennridge 47-22 at Crawford Stadium.
Players to Watch: Fullback Nick Hirsch and running back Connor Hansen got it done on the ground last week for the Rams while quarterback Devon Balmer has wide receiver Ryan Cuthbert to go to downfield. Nyfease West and Nick Isabella have been a productive rushing tandem for North Penn, while the Reece Udinski-to-Ricky Johns connection is key through the air.
Prediction: North Penn 28, Pennridge 21.

Lansdale Catholic at Academy Park
Time/Place: Friday, 7 p.m., at Academy Park High School.
Records: Lansdale Catholic is 3-0 overall and 0-0 in the Philadelphia Catholic League. Academy Park is 3-0 overall and 0-0 in the Del Val League.
Last Week: The Crusaders stayed perfect with a 45-20 win over Hatboro-Horsham. Academy Park remained unbeaten with its second straight shutout, a 32-0 win over Bonner-Prendergast.
Last Year: Lansdale Catholic topped the Knights 20-14.
Players to Watch: Ryan Quigley and Marlen Fenstermacher have been unstoppable thus far in the LC running game. Defensive end Togba Porte anchors a stout defense for the Knights.
Prediction: Lansdale Catholic 31, Academy Park 28.

Souderton at Pennsbury
Time/Place: Friday, 7 p.m., at Pennsbury.

Records: Souderton is 2-1 overall and 0-0 in the SOL National. Pennsbury is 2-1 overall and 0-0 in the SOL National.
Last Week: Big Red won its second straight, 29-7 over Wissahickon, while the Falcons toppled Council Rock North, 41-19.
Last Year: The Falcons won 49-6 over the Indians.
Players to Watch: Chris Rupprecht scored four rushing touchdowns last week for the Falcons. Meanwhile, special teams was key last week for Big Red, and Blake Gular and Jamar White had the running attack humming right along.
Prediction: Pennsbury 35, Souderton 21.

Wissahickon at Springfield-Montco
Time/Place: Thursday, 6 p.m., at Springfield-Montco.
Records: Wissahickon is 1-2 overall and 0-0 in the SOL American. Springfield-Montco is 1-1 overall and 0-0 in the SOL American.
Last Week: The Trojans dropped their second in a row, falling 29-7 to Souderton Area. The Spartans were idle. They fell 49-7 to Lansdale Catholic in Week Two.
Last Year: The Trojans earned a 41-28 win over the Spartans.
Players to Watch: Wissahickon quarterback Mike Marino threw 35 passes last week, completing 19 of them for 200 yards. Springfield QB Justin Hill has a reliable target in Sheir-Ron Whittaker.
Prediction: Wissahickon 21, Springfield Montco 14.

Norristown at Central Bucks West
Time/Place: Friday, 5:30 p.m., at War Memorial Stadium, CB West High School.
Records: Norristown is 2-1 overall and 0-0 in the SOL Continental. CB West is 0-3 overall and 0-0 in the SOL Continental.
Last Week: The Eagles fell 20-16 to Plymouth-Whitemarsh. The Bucks were blanked by Pennridge, 34-0.
Last Year: The Eagles edged the Bucks, 28-27, in Week Four.
Players to Watch: Quarterback Eddie Shields has shown promise for the Bucks, who also have Jake Reichwein in the ground game. Norristown quarterback Diavante Lloyd has a solid receiver to go to in Derik Cross.
Prediction: Norristown 24, CB West 14.

Methacton at Upper Perkiomen
Time/Place: Friday, 7 p.m., at Upper Perkiomen High School.
Records: Methacton is 0-3 overall and 0-2 in the Pioneer Athletic Conference. Upper Perk is 0-3 overall and 0-2 in the PAC 10.
Last Week: The Warriors were on the wrong end of a 48-20 decision at Phoenixville while Upper Perk fell 53-7 at Spring-Ford.
Last Year: The Warriors won 44-12 over the Indians.
Players to Watch: Ryan O’Toole reached the end zone twice last week for Methacton, on the ground. Zeke Hallman threw a touchdown pass last week for the Indians, who made their case tougher with costly penalties.
Prediction: Methacton 17, Upper Perk 14 .
